Origami Text is our approach to a robust and minimalist document format with rich metadata.
Our approach is to use the visual-meta approach and embedded the full text of the document in JSON (.origamitext) or as EPUB, extending the basic premise that metadata is too important to put away out of reach.
We use the MIT Open Source license.
Primary uses cases are for community dialog via ‘owned’ documents, not servers.
Not yet defined is how we will include images, and approaches have been considered. We have also not looked all the final names, data structures, formatting, and more. At this point we have a suggestions and all is up for grabs.
