The Initial use Case for Adam and Andrew : Library JSON

Reader provides the user with a known Library so that the first time the user connects headset to computer, the user needs to provide access to the headset connection, which can be done through Reader’s command to ‘Reveal Library in Finder’. This directory will also have a JSON file with the following information about all the documents in the Library, including the following for each document:

• Filename
• All Visual-Meta information (author name, title etc.)
• Any highlighted text in the document
• Any AI appended Visual-Meta
• Hidden status
• Pinned Status

The name of this JOSN file will be ‘from_computer.josn’

This information will be updated each time this changes in Reader, and written to the JOSN file.

The Reader XR software will access this JOSN and will present it as a basic list to start with, modelled after the Library view in Reader.
If a user selects text in XR and applies a highlight (of different colours) or writes a note, this will be reflected in an update to the JOSN and transmitted back live.

The name of this JOSN file will be ‘from_xr.josn’

The user can choose to interact with this list to open the actual PDF document, which will also have been transmitted to the headset.
